I have a 6 yr old grand-daughter who has terrible smelly feet. She has a shower every night so they are clean. We can hardly stand to have her shoes in a room where people are. The last few months she has told me that the skin on her feet are peeling. Is there anything that can be done about this?
Hello
Thanks for requesting me.

Yes you have to see if this is fungal.
Which it sounds like it is.

So
Keep the feet try, change socks often.

The doctor would tell you to use chlortrimazole perhaps, which is over the counter.

Make sure that she is examined.

This can be fungal even if there is no sign of it and they look clean?

Peeling is not clean...that can be a sign of fungal.

I would try the cream and keeping the feet dry....and show the doc.

Yes, I rated you. I gave all the information you gave me to my son for him to do it. Being only the grandmother I do not want to go over his head. I am hoping he follows through on it. I know if he don't and her feet still stink I can bring it up until they do something about it.

I do have another question: This is also about smells. My grandson has terrible breath. He will brush his teeth good and gargle and a half hour later he breath stinks. He is 8 and I know this is embarrassing to him. I remember being told all the time my breath stinks. (We sound like a smelly family). What should we do next to get to the bottom of this?

The dentist first.
If this is gum disease this can be the cause.

If not, an H pylori breath test, to make sure he does not have this stomach bacteria.

What he eats is also significant [garlic will do this, so might cruciferous veggies].

If he has constipation I would also address this.

The diet should be looked at as well.

Thanks, XXXXX XXXXX get his parents to follow through. He does have regular dentist checkups. I feel sorry for him as I know what it is like to be told I have bad breath and I have done all I can think of to do. I will use this myself.

Good luck.
Let me know how it goes.
