No, I would not be alarmed by these findings.
There is a benign condition called Gilberts syndrome in which it is characterized by periods of elevated levels of a toxic substance called bilirubin in the blood
Now usually elevated bili means liver inflammation or disease, but in this case there is no disease
I suspect that may be what you have.
Usually it is found incidentally on labs.
And your other liver enzymes look good.
So I would not worry. This condition does not predispose you to liver disease either
Thanks. There were also no traces of bilirubin found in the urine. I guess I should not look at reports unless the Dr. points something out. Otherwise I'm just scaring myself!
