This is Dr. D.J., experienced Internal Medicine Specialist.
I am here to address your concerns and provide great service.
I took a look at your ekg.
Sinus arrhythmia means extra heart beats in between the normal beats.
This can occur sometimes normally.
Sometimes, there may be abnormal conduction system in the heart causing excess conduction and heart beats.
Heat rate of 34 at sleep is little too low but possible in people with increased vagal tone.
Vagal tone reduces the heart rates seen commonly in atheletes.
Hello, and thanks for your answer!
In summary, this is not concerning.
I'm not athlete at all i smoke for 6 years but i have sport allot 4 years ago
your resting heart rate runs lower around 50s.
That suggests increased vagal tone.
the last execersing is did was a year ago and was allott of fitniss
There is no other abnormality in your EKG.
probably you still have that fitness left in you.
i did a stresstest and i got op to 300 watts and a heart rate of 197
and i haven't exercised for a long time
my concern is that i dont wake up during sleep because its get to low
is this possible?
do you feel dizzy and tired?
yes sometimes im very dizzy
but on the 24 holter the said it was impossible for the heart rate
that it was caused by the heart rate
blood pressure is a little bit high normally 140/70
that is more reliable test.
Still, you can see a cardiologist for further evaluation.
yes i see a cardiologist this thursday. couple of last questions. Is it possible that it is a sick sinus syndrome? Or what else that can cause the slow heart rate?
Yes that is one possibility.
This should be ruled out with a longer holter monitor say for example for 3 to 7 days.
Is it common for people at my age of 22?
it is not that common --but can happen.
there is also congenital defects in the heart conduction system and pacemaker
Ok so i can think of increased vagal tone,
Because if i get op moving my heart rate shoots to 100 and then decreases during couple of secconds
Sick sinus is unlikely since your heart rate also goes up.
There is another condition called tachy-brady syndrome due to the conduction system defect.
This can cause both low and high heart rates.
Treatment is with permanent pacemaker if symptoms are bothersome.
how do they diagnose this?
sorry for the deep and allot questions but i'm scared something is wrong
that is also diagnosed with holter monitor for 3-5 days.
Also there is something called electrophysiological study of the heart to detect the conduction system problem.
if they do a test like that do they know it than right away?
Yes after the test
so i can conclude
tonight i aint gonna die
and probarly not soon either
no you wont.
do not worry
uuh is it smart if i have the symptoms occur again to go to ER right away or call 911?
yes you should for another check .
If the symptoms persist for more than 5 minutes then yes you should.
luckly the did a ecg yesterday during a attack
and they said it was sinus tachycardia
but sometimes i have sinus arrythmia
that is still not serious as per se.
how do you mean?
as I discussed above
the above opinions remain valid.
ah so nothing to worry about?
not at all.
that is a big releave
no more questions! time to sleep
please do not worry.
Thanks for the answers!
And enjoy your day in the beautifull city new york!
