Hello, this is Dr. David. I have read your question and I'm ready to help.

bumetanide is a strong diuretic which helps get rid of fluid out of the body.

there is really no equivalent diuretic which is over the counter.

there is Mepyramine, also known as pyrilamine, which is a first generation antihistamine which is used in pamprin and Midol as a diuretic, but this is a much weaker diuretic than bumetanide.

why are you taking ithis diuretic? for blood pressure? or for edema and swelling?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

a friend of mine was taking this drug and recently lost his job...he has no medical insurance and was wondering what he could take that was OTC close to that...

I am sorry about your friend.

there is really no good diuretic over the counter.

he might need to apply for medicaid insurance if he has no insurance.

you can give him this weblink which gives information about how to get bumetanide for patients who are in need.

I hope this helps
