Dr. Cameron :

I am an ER doctor- incidentally :-)

Dr. Cameron :

where is the pain>

Dr. Cameron :

any fever or nausea or vomiting?

Customer:

no none middle lower abdomin..no fever no vomit...

Customer:

but he is doubled over in pain...

Dr. Cameron :

when did it start/

Dr. Cameron :

how bad is the pain?

Customer:

not crying...

Dr. Cameron :

okay

Dr. Cameron :

well, the diagnosis of appendicitis is based on physical examination

Customer:

hoping just gas or bowels.....

Dr. Cameron :

sometimes kids have fever and vomiting, sometimes not

Dr. Cameron :

usually it does not make you double over in pain- that is usually more gas related pain

Dr. Cameron :

does it hurt when you press on the belly?

Dr. Cameron :

also please tell me when it started

Dr. Cameron :

did he eat dinner?

Dr. Cameron :

BRB

Customer:

he says it is hard to tell cuz it almost always hurts he say

Customer:

he said it started hurting when he drank a cup of water

Customer:

he just started complaining about 20 ago

Customer:

Customer:

he had some stew with white rice and yogurt...it is persian food....

Customer:

and a strawberry

Dr. Cameron :

ok

Dr. Cameron :

well, you can keep an eye on him for the next hour or so

Dr. Cameron :

I don't think that you need to rush to the ER tonight

Dr. Cameron :

if it gets worse, then you can go to the ER

Dr. Cameron :

but appendicitis doesn't appear out of nowhere with severe pina

Customer:

what signs would u suggest i look for?

Dr. Cameron :

nausea, vomiting, fever, worsening pain

Dr. Cameron :

and if he doesn't feel better after 2 hours, then go to the ER

Customer:

I told him to eat a banana and rest...hopefully pain subsides....and goes away! thx poor lil fellow!

Dr. Cameron :

let me know

Dr. Cameron :

I hope that I provided you with excellent service?

Customer:

thx should i cut our conversation now...he is talking to his older brother now....hopefully pain goes away...but i have plenty of work to do...so I can stay awake to watch over him...i just keep hearing his little voice from the other room as he says "ouch" "ouch" he says it still hurts...he so cute...he says if u need me I cant hardly get up though cuz it hurts so much :-(

Dr. Cameron :

Hi how is your son doing?
Customer: replied 9 months ago.

Laughingthx so much! He is well...I had him drink some water I think and eat a banana...he used the rr and fell asleep. Thank goodness my panic...premature and all is WELL!! He is always HUNGRY he has a large appetite....seems to never get full. Since we have pets...does sometimes the children get parasites from the animals too? We deworm pets on a regular basis. Is this something I should bring attention to our Peditrician?

Expert:  Dr. Natasha replied 9 months ago.
Yes they can, but it is really really uncommon and in rural areas. I wouldn't even bring it up- because it happens in 3rd world countries.
And SO MANY KIDS HAVE PETS!

Glad to head he is better! yay!
