Low DHEA sulfate level is associated adrenal gland insufficiency.
Adrenal gland produces the DHEA which is then converted to DHEA sulfated in liver and adrenal glands.
DHEA -S is supposed to ne anti inflammatory, anti aging, vasodilatory and anti atherogenic.
Hence, low DHEA-S can cause low energy, depression, lack of sex drive, increased risk of heart disease for example.
DHEA-S level can be increased by the supplements available over the counter.
Usual dose is 50 to 100 mg daily.
There is no significant side effects at this dosage.
So use a DHEA-S supplement? or just a DHEA supplement...............which my body will convert to DHEA-S????
