in the last two weeks I have had 3 different spells of very rapid heart beats I had no pain really but had to lay down for 30-35 minutes never had anything like this before should I have went to er or just make appointment with my doctor if it happens again should I go to er
Hello, this is Dr. David. I have read your question and I'm ready to help.

if you started to black out during those episodes, you should have gone to the ER, especially if you have another episode. you could have a cardiac arythmia and you might not be getting enough blood to your brain when your heart is beating really fast.

you should definitely also be making an appointment with your primary doctor as well

you need a whole host of testing including thyroid panels, EKG, cardiology consult, holter or event monitor, possible cardiac echocardiogram to see what might be causing these rapid heart beats and your symptoms.

this sounds serious and needs to be addressed right away

let me know if you have any questions.
