Strained myself at gym. tenderness on external obliques in small area left side.
WBC normal, CPK 128. Colonoscopy 2 years ago was normal. Feels like major muscle pull. Bowel movements WNL, fever negative Hurts when I bend into that area.
Hello, this is Dr. David. I have read your question and I'm ready to help.

sounds like you migth have torn an abdominal oblique muscle.

that can cause elevation of CPK

you need to ice the area to decrease swelling and pain.

and rest the muscle and slowly atllow it to heal.

a torn muscle can take a while to heal.

have you been icing the injury?

how long has it been since the injury?

Is 128 a high CPK. My lipitor gives me body aches constantly.

I will try ice and injury is 1 week old. Thank you Dr.

CPK normal values is 10 - 120 micrograms per liter (mcg/L)

a torn muscle can cause your level.

I don't think your lipitor is causing your symptoms.

hopefully with more time and rest and ice, your oblique muscle injury will heal.
