I had a diagnostic lap to find out why I had all this pain

This answer was rated:

I had a diagnostic lap to find out why I had all this pain on my right side. My doctor found all kinds of scar tissue in my uterus & oavries he said it was pretty bad & that I would need a hysterectomy. What causes scar tissue to grow like that and cause that much pain?

911DOC :

Much better question for your surgeon, but it's possible that you have scarring from endometriosis.

911DOC :

was this discussed?

911DOC :

are you there?

Customer: No. He said he couldn't see any thing but scar tissue
911DOC :

so endometriosis is a possibility

911DOC :

and with what you are describing I would say a probability as well

911DOC :

can you see the informational link above?

Customer: I don't know about endometriosis. But can scar tissue cause that much pain.
911DOC :

it's hard to say what the cause of the pain is, but scar tissue and 'adhesions' within the abdomen can be painful in certain circumstances... endometriosis itself causes pain. it sounds like your surgeon believes that he can relieve your pain with the surgery, but before getting this done I do recommend asking this very question of him/her.

what further questions do you have for me?
