The most obvious cause would be a hiatal hernia with reflux. I take it you have been studied for this and have been on acid blocking medicine?
sir, place the cursor in the box below the chat, type your reply, and click the 'reply' button
Am not on any acid blocking medicine. Doctor has not mentioned anything about hiatal hernia with reflux.
stand by for a second, I'll get you some good references
AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THIS MAYO CLINIC REFERENCE, COUGHING IS A PROMINENT SYMPTOM WITH REFLUX DISEASE... A HIATAL HERNIA CAN MAKE THIS WORSE AND ONE WOULD EXPECT YOU, IF YOU HAD THESE THINGS, TO WAKE UP COUGHING IN THE NIGHT WITH AN ACID TASTE IN YOUR MOUTH
If I were you I would inquire about this possibility and see if a trial of acid blocking medicine helps you. You would also probably need to see a GI specialist for an upper endoscopy study.
already had the endoscopy study done with no significant results or problems.
then I must say that I am stumped
but they did not try acid blockers?
there is a rare entity called a 'Zinkers Diverticulum'
That might be a cause
not satisfied with the answer. There has to be something to be able to do. I never had this problem before.
I am not finished yet
and you have had specialists examine you
take a look at that link
and see if it rings a bell for you
From the hospital in my town to Huntsman's Clinic in Salt Lake City.
can you see the link on Zinker's diverticulum?
i am going to open this to see if other experts can help you.
thank you. Sorry could not see the Zinker's diverticulum link.
