This answer was rated:

If someone has shingles and they are living in the same house with a woman who is pregnant, 34 weeks gestation and an elderly man, is there any danger to them?
Hello, this is Dr. David. I have read your question and am ready to help.

shingles is caused by the chicken pox virus, also called varacella zoster

if everyone has had chicken pox before, they should be fine.

everyone should wash their hands frequently.

the elderly man get get a vaccine against shingles at any time.

if the mom has not had chicken pox before, there is a small chance she could develop chicken pox during pregnancy. she won't develop shingles this way.

I hope this helps
