Gas problem can cause this commonly.
Avoid dairy products like milk, cheese etc.
Also certain gas producing foods like too much fibers --cabbages, broccoli can cause gas formation.
caffeine, alcohol are other agents to be avoided.
Simethicone tablets before bed time and before meals will help to decrease the gas problem.
Muscle spasms during night time likely from the gas is the likely explanation.
Besides simethicone, an antacid like Maalox or gaviscon also can b taken to keep the intestine quiet.
