Chronic osteomyelitis can be debilitating sometimes.
The infection may remain in the bone even with antibiotic courses.
In that case, the infected bone is removed like in your case.
The swelling is likely from the damage to the blood vessels at the affected area.
This is challenging to treat.
But compression stockings may be used during walking to prevent swelling.
Did yoy discuss with your doctor regarding the options?
yedis, he thinks i will be disabled because of the edema and pain i experience with any prolonged standing or sitting. what do u think
I think it is possible given the chronic problem.
Now there can be vascular studies done to look for any damage to the blood vessels.
In some cases that may be fixed surgically.
But you need to consult with a vascular surgeon
what kind of surgery would that b
can u explain what that entails
in case of blockage to the blood vessel, they can put a stent or a graft to open up the circulation.
ok thankx you've been helpful,,bye now,
