This answer was rated:

I would like to know what is the normal Creatinine level for a 75 yr. old woman and
and the BUN/CRE RATIO for the same person.

My Regular Doctor said I have chronic kidney deceased, based on the blood Test that showed this results.

My Urologist took an X-Ray of my kidneys and Urine Analysis, two weeks after the blood test and he told me my kidneys are fine. I want to know who is right. Thank you.

Hi there,

I am Mysticdoc, experienced Internal Medicine Specialist.

I am here to help you with your concerns.

Mysticdoc :

Your urologist has done kidney scans and urinanalysis which are better tests to check for kidney disease than just the blood tests.

Mysticdoc :

Hence, your urologist is correct in this circumstance.

Mysticdoc :

The normal creatinine at your age should be between 0.6 to 1.3

Customer:

My urologists did not do a scan. He did an X-Ray.

Customer:

Is the scan better than the X-Ray, or are they the same

Mysticdoc :

scan is better

Mysticdoc :

request for a scan

Customer:

Thank you. I will.

Mysticdoc :

xrays are not good to look for any kidney damage

Mysticdoc :

the normal bun cr ratio should be between 10-20 to 1

Mysticdoc :

very welcome

Customer:

If I have the decease do you have any recommendations as to what foods to avoid and what supplements to stop taking. I was told to stop taking Calcium by a friend, but I think calcium is important for my age. What do you recommend.

Mysticdoc :

in case of kidney disease, low potassium and phosphate diet is recommended.

Customer:

Thanks. You have helped me more than anyone else. God bless you.
