hello would you like to chat on this?
Good Morning Dr.
this is most likely acid dyspepsia
acid dyspepsia comprises of a number of conditions like acid reflux, mucosal gastritis,
duodenitis, gastric ulcer, etc
best to get this checked up
you may not be having acid reflux but you could be having the other conditions
I have been diagnosed with gastritis in the past. I haven't had an episode for about 3 years now and this particular episode seems worse than the last in terms of symptoms.
well in that case this is sure to be gastritis
you should get this checked up by your doctor
I've never had the area hurt to the touch before. I've had various tests (H. Pylori, etc) and came back negative so my Dr. didn't seem to think it was an actual ulcer.
other possible causes are cholecystitis and pancreatitis
thats right, these other causes could also be responsible now
Thank you Dr. My regular Physician is on vacation until the 2nd week of June so I just had to ask
discuss about the following tests with him
upper GI endoscopy, Ultrasound of upper abdomen
this would lead to a diagnosis
meanwhile continue with the zantac
you should also take Mylanta two tsf thrice daily
other steps to take are
*Cut down on alcohol and smoking
*have small frequent meals *cut down on fried foods *take sips of cold water from time to time
at the same time remember to discuss with your doctor at the earliest
if symptoms get severe, you need to go to the ER
