Well, considering your height and weight BMI comes to be 16.3.
You are considered severely underweight.
Body mass index (BMI) is a measure of body fat based on height and weight. The normal range for BMI is-
Underweight = <18.5
Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
Overweight = 25-29.9
Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater.
Your BMI indicates that you are severely underweight.
I would like to rule out diabetes and hyperthyroidism
.Both these condition causes weight loss and digestive problems. So, you should get blood work done.
-Complete blood count to check for Anemia
-Fasting blood sugar test.
Also hormone testing should be done.
Digestive disorders, may cause unintentional weight loss and need to be corrected. Anxiety and depressive disorders may also cause your symptoms. Practice yoga and meditation for relaxation, Deep breathing exercises will help you. Sessions from Counselor would be helpful.
Dietary changes have also be done to increase body weight.
You should make meals with starchy carbohydrates, such as wholemeal pasta, brown rice, potatoes or lentils, as a base.
You can Choose lean protein from meat, fish, beans and pulses.
For breakfast, porridge with chopped fruit or raisins sprinkled on top, or eggs on toast would be helpful.
Yogurts and milky puddings, such as rice puddings are very good.
For lunch a jacket potato with baked beans or tuna on top, which contains energy-giving carbohydrate and protein would be helpful.
You should plan a diet chat with a dietitian.
Please discuss this issue with your doctor and make necessary blood work done.
Further line of treatment has to be advised accordingly.
