I am online and happy to help you with your question today.
Is there any swelling or fluid that you can feel?
Do you recall injuring it at all or doing a lot of work/exercise lately that could have aggravated it?
Not that I can detect. It feels very bony.
How old are you? Male/Female?
34 year old female
Any other medical problems or take any medications?
PCOS, take Metformin for that
I can't really think of anything out of the ordinary activity wise that might have aggravated it.
does it hurt when you move the elbow?
No, the pain is pretty much isolated to when I though it. It's with the bones of the elbow, where they join, but toward the inside if that makes any sense.
yes. This makes perfect sense.
That is the area that the tendon attaches to the bone. The most likely cause of the pain you are experiencing is tendinitis. The good news? You can try some home therapy this weekend and probably skip a doctor visit if you would like....
It is very sore today, but I really rubbed on it last night checking for lumps, swelling, etc. Yes, I'm open to some home therapy!
Ice packs, rest (maybe put it a sling to remind you not to use it) and OTC pain relievers such as advil, aleve, motrin etc.
If there is no improvement at all by monday (not cured mind you...just a bit better) then a trip to the MD for possible steroid injection and directed physical therapy (at home) exercises should clear things up....
Is there anything else you would like to discuss at this point or have all your questions been answered to your satisfaction?
Okay, I will give that a try. I was concerned because it seemed like the bone itself was sore. I guess I didn't realized there would be tendons there. No, I think that covers everything. I will give the home therapy a try.
9 times out of 10 this will clear up with simple rest, ice and advil at home :-)
That is where the tendon attaches to the bone.
Sounds like an excellent plan.
