I am recovering from food poisoning, the diarhoea has stopped but now I have the bloating and difficulty with bowel motions I am worried I will now end up with haemorrhoids at this rate, your advice would be greatfully appreciated
Thank you for your question:

Are you taking any medications?

What medicine did you take for the diarrhoea?

No I didnt take medication and when I went to the Doctors on thursday she never gave me any

There are several things that can help with your symptoms including:

Increasing fluid intake

A fiber supplement such as Metamucil (psyillium) or MiraLax (polyethylene glycol 3350) can help the bowels return to a normal size/consistency.

Avoiding milk and milk products (ice cream, cheese) since you may have problems with lactose intolerance for a while after an intestinal infection.

Probiotics - supplements of "good bacteria" to help restore the normal balance of bacteria in the intestines.
