I am having chronic heel pain from plantar fascities that is making me miserable. I just got a second round of cortizone (sp) shots in both heels that helped for about 1 day. Advil works but is really starting to wreck my stomach. Is there any stronger medication that I can take?

Hello from JAGreat question here. There are no medications that are going to cure this condition. And anti-inflammatory are the indicated medicine. You can try a newer NSAID that has less effect on the stomach. These are called cox 2 inhibitors. What stands out in your description is the lack of therapy..physical therapy that is...braces and orthotics are great but might not relieve other stresses on the feet from say a strain in the lower spine, knees, etc.The doctor that can assess this correctly is a physical medicine and rehabilitation doctor, a type of MD. This will get a full body structural diagnosis and input into what other physical therapies you might needed. In rare cases surgery is needed but I have never had a patient have to do this.
