Greetings,Did you consult doctor or have follow up or tests? Which medicine did you take for this problem?Regards.
im taking zegrid otc for heart burn for my heart burn that is about all and actually my doctor didnt tell me i wwold be having this type of problem it was the nurse after the surgery, so i kind of expected this to happen, but she said it would take around 6 mo to regulate i was ok then but like i said its been over two yrs and it is way worse now
Thank you for the input.Diarrhea can occur after gall bladder surgery. Post gall bladder diarrhea can occur in 1-3 % of cases. The cause is not entirely known but is believed to be due to bile acid causing a laxative effect. Treatment usually consists of taking substances which impair absorption of bile acids like cholestyramine , aluminium hydroxide etc. There can be other causes too. When it is continuing for 2 years, I would advise to consult a gastroenterologist. He can take further tests like stool analysis, scope if he thinks necessary or prescribe medicine. If you have any query, please feel free to ask.It will be my privilege to assist you. Regards
since i have no medical insurance at the moment is there anything over the counter i can take that will contain cholestyramine or aluiminum hydroxide, i believe my insurance will kick in around two months from now
I understand your problem with insurance. You need to visit doctor in person for prescription. Over the counter will be available. You can visit a free clinic. If one does not have insurance, one can visit one of the centers run by the Health Resources and Services Administration. They provide affordable quality health care to people without insurance. You can find a health center near you by clicking the link belowhttp://www.hrsa.gov/
Experience: 25 years of clinical experience
