I was in West Africa on a job assignment. I had unprotected sex about a month ago. I developed pain in the urinary tract about a centineter away form the head of my penis.I experiences slightly painful urination and burning sensation whenever I peed. I tried to treat this with doxycycline which we are required to take 100mg daily for malaria prevention. After four days of not seeing improvement when I administering a twice daily doxy dosage of what I perceived was a urinary tract infection - I talked to the pharmacy and they gave me a ciproflaxin generic which I took for five days. The pain diminshed but the iriritation seem to moved down my urethra, under me and toward my anal area. I feel like the urge to pee was introducing an associated urge to defficate. I came to Houston last week - the clinic checked my urine and found no bacteria and no blood and blood sugar was OK - all was OK. They however put me on a six week regimen of ciprofaxin. I currently take 88mcg levthyroxine and 10mg quinapril daily. I began to experience lower back muscle soreness and went back to the clinic - a urine test proved OK. They gave me rbaxin to take for five days once a night - it helps though my back is still sore. I get a sexual sensation as in a need to ejaculate and when I try to urinate I have difficulty emptying my bowels. Sometimes I feel slight itch as in inside my bowels - from the testicle are to the anus. I am going back to work in west africa in a week and a half - can you tell me what my problem might be. I did on ocassion use a cheap version of viagra (french made) in the market place but it made my body ache the next day so I stopped using it. Now I wake up in the early morning with an urge to pee along with an erection without the generic viagra use. I stopped using the viagra type a month ago. Please advise and tell me if the regimen of ciproflax can work and that I am not developing cancer

HelloThis sounds like a prostate problemDoxyclicine or cipro can be usedDoxycicline is better in my experience. It can be soreness and inflammation without infection. This is also not uncommon.I would suggest that right now you need a urologist to do the exam..see how the prostate is.A free PSA is a lab test than can give you your risk level or not for prostate cancer.
