I have tingling starting from my left ear lobe, down the left side of my jaw to my chin, and then occasionally going down my neck to the top of my breast bone muscles. The tingling is intermittent and lasts for about 30 seconds or less. This occurs whether my jaw is clamped shut or not. (I have a tendency to grind my teeth.)
Optional Information: Person's Gender: Male Person's Age: 68 Already Tried: I have not tried anything. It just started two days ago. It is mildly uncomfortable, but I am not in any pain. It feels like someone brushed a long hair across the left side of my face along the jaw line.
Welcome to JA. Thank you for your questionThe tingling sensation is from nerve irritation- when nerves are traumatised, irritated or inflammed, people complain of tingling, burning or shooting pain sensations. The description of the nerve that seems to be affecting you is one of the cervical nerves (from the neck). You can see the diagram here:http://www.painneck.com/cervical-nervesThis can be from a herniated disc or from stenosis (narrowing of the outlet). But you need to have a MRI of the neck to see what is going on. This could also be referred pain from TMJ since you grind your teeth, but that usually does not cause symptoms in the chest.
Warm regards.
