I have been having many health problems that I thought were my heart but I have noticed something for the past two days that may be the cause of my problems possibly?About a week ago I went to hospital because I thought I was having a heart attack. It turned out to be a panic attack but they wrote 'possibly sepsis, takycardia, shortness of breath and sweating' on the release form. I have had 2 other episodes of this in the past week and just generally feel a bit yuck and faint in the head sometimes. The 2 other episodes started with a feeling like I was going to faint then it would trigger my anxiety. Sometimes my heart rate reaches 140bpm and I have palpitations. I have had 4 ECG's of the heart and a glucose test that were all normal. I do not have a fever. I usually feel a lot better at night after dinner for some reason.Well for the past few days I have noticed little black specks on the toilet paper mixed in with the feces after passing a bowel movement. Otherwise the feces is normal brown color. Sometimes I have intense itching where my two posterior cheeks meet (may be unrelated but I just wanted to relate that, I also have jock itch).Could the black specs be related to some sort of bleeding that causes me to feel faint at times or could it be worms?
Thanks for the question. I would like to say that the black stuff can be due to food related but also can be due to bleed from the upper gastrointestinal tract like from peptic ulceration, gastric erosions and others like that. That can give some of your symptoms. I will also suggest to have 24-hr holter monitor to rule out any heart arrhythmias. I will advise to see your physician for evaluation and have test such as stool for occult blood. Avoid spicy or junk food, avoid alcohol and pain killers. Let me know if you have any further question. Best wishes.Do accept the answer in this way I will be rewarded for my work and time here for you. Positive feedback and bonuses will be appreciated.Best of luck and keep in touchDr. Amir Javed.
One last question, could I have threadworms causing this? Because usually my posterior seems to only itch at night?
I would like to say that this can be due to infection which also includes parasitic infection (including thread worms) but less likely. I will suggest to have these tests such as stool for occult blood to rule out any blood in stools, stool culture to see GI infection. You can see physician for that. I wish you best of luck. Let me know if you have any further question. Best wishes.
