Hello William,I am Dr.David and I’m happy to help with your question today. I need the following information from you, so that I can provide you the best answer:Do you have chest pain?Any numbness in left hand/arm?Is there any other known medical illness?I am online and is waiting for your reply.Regards- Dr.David
No chest pain now, but sometimes during the day,
Thanks for the info given.I’ve taken a close look at your question & the reply and come up with the following answer:A normal pulse rate for a healthy adult, while resting, can range from 60 to 100 beats per minute.A heart rate over 100 beats a minute is called tachycardia.First the cause & type of tachycardia is to be diagnosed.Whether its origin is in atria or its in ventricles.Other causes of high heart rate are:hyperthyroidism, anxiety, drinking a lot of caffeine-containing beverages, congenital defects, coronary artery disease, disease of the heart valves, lung disease. The chest pain you are having can be due to angina. It occurs when heart is not getting enough blood and oxygen.Stable angina isn't a heart attack, but it makes a heart attack more likely in the future. You need following tests: -Electrocardiogram(EKG)-Stress EKG,-Blood tests-Holter monitoring,-Electrophysiological mapping-CT coronary angiographySo I advice you to go to ER now for these tests & examination to rule out heart disease & then treatment will be done accordingly.Hope this helped.Your satisfaction is my prime goal and I'm happy to answer any follow-up questions you may have. Please feel free to ask if you have any other question.Regards- Dr.David
