I have this feeling on the right side of my throat (inside) I feel like a lump rising and when I swallow it feels like it goes down(it gives me a sensation where i need to swallow) someone said gerd but i am having no stomach issues. any ideas???
Hi, I'm Doctor Robert, a Medical Internist (MD) who deals with diseases of all organ systems. All my education has been completed in the US.
Are you there?
This sounds like an enlarged tonsil or another lymph node. These line the entire throat and can become enlarged.
Tonsils are lymph nodes; they're just the ones everybody knows by names. There are thousands of lymph nodes throughout the body.
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) doesn't sound likely given your description.
I just got over being sick and a round of zpack
Well, then there you have it. It is an enlarged node from your body fighting infection
In two weeks it will be gone if the antibiotics were effective.
Any other questions I can answer for you today?
ok it can't close my throat so I can't breathe can it? as u see i have anxiety too lol
No, that's called Quincy, and it happens when BOTH sides are enlarged and really quite huge.
Not a bit concern.
If you start tohave trouble breathing, or begin drooling, that's a sign it is getting bad.
oh ok good so if no resloving of the issues two weeks from time i finished the zpack contact my dr??
A trip to the Emergency Room is in order if you have difficulty breathing.
Yes, if in two weeks it has not gotten smaller, then a follow-up visit with the doctor is probably a good idea.
Anything else?
no ur awesome have a great night!!!!

If you have any follow-up questions about the issue we recently discussed on JustAnswer.com, or any NEW items that may have come up as a result of my recommendations, please return to our original thread (see link below) and add a new post at the end. I'll get an email notifying me that you want more assistance. It's best to have the first line of your next post state "FOR COACHROBMD ONLY" so other experts won't become involved. If I don't hear back from you, hopefully everything turned out well. If you recall, your question related to lump in the throat which I thought was possibly your tonsil.Go here: http://www.justanswer.com/medical/6n0h6-feeling-right-side-throat-inside.html?L=T&r=ems%7C2012-05-07%7C15
