What are the questions ,please let me know .
Hi Dr. Bassi,Only thing that turned up somewhat strange on my test was that RBC was at 5.53 and PH was at 7.5. However, my symptoms for the past year are as follows:Started with SOB during moderate-mild activity, then heart palpitations and body tremors. More recently, I have had slight abdominal pain/discomfort, and also weight loss as well. One Dr. told me Cancer would be unlikely because of my starting symptoms, but the other said weight loss is a severe enough sign so that I should get checked. Thanks
Dear Jacustomer , Your lab does not seem to be associated with your shortness of breath , heart palpitations and body tremor , I will recommend that you ask your doctor to do an ekg as underlying arrhythmia can present with shortness of breath and palpitations .Increased breathing can lead to ph of 7.5 .Other test which needs to be done is serum tsh as elevated thyroid hormone can also present with palpitations and tremors , weight loss.Underlying undiagnosed ulcer disease can lead to abdominal discomfort ,so will recommend that you take over the counter prilosec as this will help subside it .
Thanks
Feel free to ask further questions if any.
Dr. Bassi,I have the Thyroid results as well:TSH: 3.12T4: 10.3T3: 27Free Index: 2.8
So thyroid has been ruled out but ekg , needs to be done .Do ask your doctor to check serum calcium levels as low levels can also present with tremors .Do take prilosec as this will help subside your abdominal pain .
Dr. Bassi,Thanks, XXXXX XXXXX feel more confident that the cause of abdominal pain/ weight loss is benign, in contrast to say something more serious? Thanks again.
Your most welcome ,At your age , you should not worry about anything serious (malignancy ) .
Experience: M.D Physician with 8 years of experience .
So I shouldn't worry about getting tested for it? Thanks.
No , but do get an ekg done .
Ok, will do. One other thing I forgot to metnion that alarmed me, was that my temperature is a bit lower than normal-- only 96.2 when it is usually around 97.3 Should I mention this as well to the doctor? Thanks.
Yes that also needs to be discussed with your doctor .
