Hello
No this would not be typical unless it were an allergic reaction to something in the alcohol
How long has the swelling been going on
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
on and off for several years. severe 2 years ago, needed vent hospital stay. This winter rashes and unexplained facial swellings. she is a alcohol induced dementia patient as best as i can guess. Sweet confused Mama, till she drinks.. Are u certain theres not a organ dying or something??
Expert:  DrRussMD replied 5 years ago.
Does this happen right after she drinks?
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
no, usually morning wake up..at this moment looks like pillsberry doughwoman(day 3). on steriods and benadril Not a food alergy as she always blamed..cause no food prior to swelling...any other culprits?
Expert:  DrRussMD replied 5 years ago.
OK
Contact dermatitis
Rosacea
Heart problems
Kidney problems
Thyroid provblems

She needs to have an internal medicine doctor look at this and run some tests.

If no organ disease then likely rosacea..most likely

good luck
