Customer Question

I have red bumps on my butt and down the back of my legs. I thought it was a reaction to soaps or laundry detergents but I noticed the bumps keep spreading.. I've tried a lot of creams and nothing makes them go away. I don't have health insurance so going to the doctor isn't really a choice. Any ideas what this could be?? Please help. I'm scared..

Can you mention what all creams have you tried so far ?

Is there itching too ?

Any history of recent unprotected sex ?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

cortizone 10

triamcinolone acetonide

I've tried lotions

Cleaning it everday

It only itches sometimes. It's not much of a problem

Yes there has been 2 times that were unprotected.

Is there anything I can buy at the store to make them go away??

Dear Jacustomer ,

I will recommend that you apply over the counter topical mupirocin on it and take over the counter benadryl as that might help .
But if your symptoms did not improve in 2-3 days ,then you may have to see the doctor for a physical exam , he may want to prescribe you oral antibiotic or oral steroid depending on physical exam . I am suggesting doctor physical exam as this is a clinical diagnosis .

Thanks

Does it sound like an STD or Do you think it's something else? It's little red bumps that keep spreading and nothing gets rid of them.. It's not on my genitals just on my butt and the back of my thighs.

It can be std but that mostly presents with vaginal discharge .
In my opinion it seems to be localized skin infection . Other causes seems less likely .

Ok.. This makes me feel a little better. The fact I can't get it to go away scares me. Is there anything else I can do to make it heal faster.. Like not wear certain things? or use certain soaps? Do I put gauze or something over it when I put the medicine on?

This takes its own time ,try to keeo the area dry not moist as that will help .

Other than that apply the medications I listed above .

Thanks
