I have itchy red bumps around my anus. What is the cause and do I need to seek treatment or will it go away on it's own?

Hello. I would like to help you find an answer.

How long has it been there?

Also, this may seem like an odd question but some people have hair in this area. Do you shave or trim there if you have hair?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.
It started late fri night after I got out of the shower. I had been dancing at a concert and been in sweat-soaked clothes for hours. I do shave there, but it had been a few days since.

Okay. This is likely one of two things

1)folliculitis from shaving (it can come a few days after). Shaving causes bacteria to get pushed into the follicles and can cause an infection.

2)fungal infection-warm moist environments can fungus to grow.

I think you need to see your doc to determine what exactly it is.

You can try over the counter anti fungal sprays in the meantime and antibiotic ointment. It should get better with that.
