Bilateral arm and hand pain

Customer Question

Broke left radial head in late June. First a splint, then long cast, then a short at approximately 6 surgery required. General left wrist and arm weakness initially after cast removed...since then, both of my arms and hands ache...some stiffness noted. No burning, tingling, or other neurological type symptoms. No edema, color or temperature changes. Feels like I developed arthritic and overuse symptoms in both upper extremities almost overnight...but no weakness noted. Rate pain 5/10. Wakes me up several times during the night...improves during the day when I am out and about. No changes in any of my activities and no acute injury except broken wrist several months ago. I am taking Celebrex--but this doesn't keep the symptoms at bay during the night. I do not feel ill in anyway. No lymphadenopathy noted in either arm or pit. What can this be?

Hello and thank you for your question. What other medical problems do you have? Take other medications? Any diseases run in your family?
Have you had follow up imaging like stays or Ct scan of your neck or back?
Thank you for this information.

HTN well controlled on Lisinopril 40mg, hypothyroid (well-controlled) on Synthroid 125mcg, anxiety/depression (well controlled) take Lexapro 10mg. Crestor 5mg for dylipidemia (well-controlled). Vit D, Calcium. Celebrex 200mg for LBP (well controlled). Tylenol prn for aches and pains and occasional Ambien for insomnia.
Diseases in the family are HTN (M, F, and sibs), type 2 diabetes (B), Stage 4 kidney cancer (B), lymphoma (F, deceased at 79) pulmonery fibrosis (M, deceased at 85).

I am a little overweight 160, 5'3'. Active--enjoy walking my dogs, married, work at university. No CAT scan of the neck or back--did have CAT scan of my broken wrist. Your thoughts? I do believe that my mother also had some osteoarthritis and my PGM had "rheumatism". I have no heart disease...I have had no changes in my medications.
