I have high red blood cell count and low white blood cell count. What could be the cause

Resolved Question:

I have high red blood cell count and low white blood cell count.
What could be the cause of this?
I have had breast cancer in the past and chemo and radiation.
In addition, I am on aromasin.

Low white blood cell count is due to- Radiation therapy. As you had been given chemo and radiation in the past, this has resulted in low white blood cell count.

High red blood cell count is due to any of these causes-

-Use of Anabolic steroids,
-Lung disease
-Polycythemia vera
-Other types of heart disease.

You need to consult your doctor as this can indicate the cause of your illness, or your doctor may suggest additional tests to assess your condition.
