Hello,

How long and how frequently are you having the symptoms?

When have you consulted doctor last?

Do you take any other medicine?

Did you have any test?

Do you have any other symptom or previous illness?

Thank you.
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
Symptoms started 5 days ago and have progressively worsened. The frothy sputum began approx 24-36 hours ago. I saw a nurse-practioner today who did O2 stats, listened to my chest and did blood pressure which all seemed normal. She said I had a slight fever. She gave me Amoxicil for a possible sinus infection.
No other tests.

Acute: some sharp chest pains yesterday. Lasted 30sec to 1 min. Tight, sore chest. Uncontrollable coughing bouts leave me gasping for air past 48-72 hours.

Chronic: Low energy, weak, low immune system. Low testosterone and ACTH (sev blood tests)I have had some sharp chest pains from time to time and episodes of weakness (feeling like I might collapse walking up stairs for example). I am 6ft, 180lbs and active (coach and play bball).

I have GERD and take Nexium daily to manage it.

How is chest pain now?

Do you feel any response to amoxicillin?

Any test taken other than oxygen saturation?
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
Chest pain is intermittent and not severe, sort of like painful bubbles passing through. Sore lungs is what it feels like at the moment.

I only started antibiotics today (3 pills so far) and haven't noticed anything yet.

It was just hooking my finger to the O2 monitor. No other tests were done.

Thank you for the information,

Antibiotics can take some time to act.

It can sometimes take 48 hours or more.

You have started it today, so the effects may take time.

When you are feeling chest soreness, bubbling in chest, you can take a review by doctor.

A chest X ray can be considered if he feels.

You can keep the room humidified.

Warm salt water gargling can be soothing.

I hope this information helps.

I will be happy to assist, if you need any clarification.

Please feel free for any follow up query.

Best wishes.

The frothy sputum is the strange symptom to me. I've never had this before.
Expert:  Dr .Saha replied 5 years ago.
Frothy sputum can be due to a few factors.

It can be due to a mixture of saliva, nasal secretions.

It can be from pulmonary edema, heart failure.

Though you do not have any such history of heart illness, but it is better to have a thorough evaluation.
