I have an itchy rash that looks like mosquito bites that started

Resolved Question:

I have an itchy rash that looks like mosquito bites that started out on my chest and more spots have come up under my armpits, under my breasts, and a few on my legs. There are around 25 in all. This has been going on for a week and I was worried about bed bugs or fleas but an exterminator who did an evaluation today said there are no signs of insects. Any thoughts?

Did you get exposed to any plants outside?
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
Not that I know of. Walk through the grass ocassionally when playing with my kids but was not outside much last week when it started.
Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 5 years ago.

What about prior to that. Think hard. Any exposure to plants.

Also, any new detergents, foods, perfume or medicine?

Customer: replied 5 years ago.
Not that I can remember. Been too hot to be outside much and always use free and clear detergent, no new meds or food, don't use perfume. Don't know if it is possible to send a picture through here but would that help?
Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 5 years ago.
Yes, you can attach a pic to the text box. Go ahead.
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
I am not seeing where to attach the picture...
Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 5 years ago.
There is a little paper clip at the top of the text box
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
I don't see a paperclip but here are links- does that work?

Nope. It wouldn't let me view them.

how about that? Or if you have any other ideas of how I can get pictures to you..
Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 5 years ago.
Okay. I saw them. Did this rash start with one large patch then spread?
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
Just one or two bug bite looking spots then each day, there are more.
Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 5 years ago.

Okay. I suspect this is either an allergic response to something (quite obvious I know) or something called pityriasis rosea.

PR is a herpes virus that causes symptoms just like this out of nowhere and causes itching.

Treatment is just as you are doing.

The only way to tell for sure is to see your doc but I think you are taking the appropriate measures at home.
