I have scalp and ear pain on one side. Why?

Resolved Question:

My scalp is very sore on one side, my ear hurts on the same side, and my throat hurts. It hurts to even touch my scalp. I don't have an ear infection, no fever, no rash, just this pain to my scalp.

Is the pain constant or does it come and go?

Customer: replied 5 years ago.

It is constant, it hurts to touch it, to lay on it.

Two things come to mind. Either an atypical cluster headache or something similar to occipital neuralgia in which one of the nerves which supply the scalp get irritated (but in one of the other nerves which the side). In either case, talking to your doctor about using a a prescription dose of an anti-inflammatory medicine such as naproxen can help. If this class of medicine does not work, especially for occipital neuralgia, a medicine to treat nerve related pain such as neurontin is sometimes used.
