Can I take Dayquil and Delsym at the same time

Customer Question

Can I take Dayquil and Delsym at the same time?

Optional Information:
Gender: Male
Age: 37

Already Tried:
Taking Dayquil and Nyquil for what I believe was a snius infection. It has mostly gone away, with some productive coughing yesterday and today, though is is very lightly colored phlegm and mostly foamy. However, I would like to surpress this cough! It's not persistent or overly powerful, but enough to prevent me from going to work.

Hello,
Welcome to justanswer.com and thanks for your question.
Well Dayquil Cough contains Dextromethorphan (cough suppressant) and Phenylephrine (nasal decongestant).
DayQuil Mucus Control DM contains

Dextromethorphan (cough suppressant)
Guaifenesin (expectorant)

And Delsym contains Dextromethorphan alone.
So you should try Dayquil cough /Mucus control DM instead of taking Dayquil and Delysm.
Also if you have mild cough then you can try saline gargles and steam inhalation as well.
And keep yourself hydrated with plenty of fluids.
I hope this helps.
