We are wondering if there are any supplements out there that will help restore seotonin levels such as tyrosine or 5-htp??? His friends have him on a diet and excercise regime which is helping but he is very anxious to be able to go his meds some day, and thinks his drug useage caused his depression. HELP
It would be extremely dangerous for him to do so on his own.It would be unethical for any internet site to recommend a management.However there are some solutions here....but first, why the resperidol>?
His drug usage threw him into a few psychotic episodes which have cleared up. However, his pysch doc wants him to stay on it with the celexa. We don't know why. He would not go off without his docs ok. Are you saying that the supplements would be dangerous for him? If so, can you recommend anything that would help with his E-flashbacks and at least make him think he's helping his serotonin?
OKLet me give you an exampleTaking 5HPT or tryptophan with celexa and resperidone could put him into seratonin syndrome, and is life threatening.You should not be trying to find out a supplement for his psych problem on the internet and nothing should be done without his docs OKThat said there are trained physicians in neurohormonal transmitter therapy who use amino acid percursors for therapy.YOu can find one of these docs by calling the people atwww.neuroassist.comthey will held you find an MD or DO trained an knowledgeable.good luck
