Thanks for using just answer.

Since how long you are having this cough and green mucous?

Any history of chest pain and fever associated?

Do you have sore throat as well?

Any investigations already done?
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
Have had a sore throat for about a week. Cough started last night and subsided after coughing up green thick mucous. No chest pain but some chest discomfort like minor sensation in the left and right rib cage.

What you have taken to treat sore throat other then lozenges? Any history of fever associated?

Do you coughing up green sputum persistently or only for once?
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
Nothing other than sore throat lozenges. No history of fever. I only coughed for about 30 minutes last night. I do however still that there is more mucuos that needs to come out.

Ok and thanks for your all input.

Well, coughing up of such green mucous indicates bacterial chest infection. If you continue to have such green mucous and start developing fever, then you should see your doctor physically. You may need to go for x-ray chest as well. Antibiotics will also be require to treat such infection. In the mean time you can also use a cough expectorant like guaifenesin which promotes drainage of mucus from the lungs by thinning the mucus, and clear the lungs.
