How would a person report a doctor who is overprescribing narcotics

Resolved Question:

How would a person report a doctor who is overprescribing narcotics including giving prescriptions without even appointments and seeing patients at night and patients have the doctors cell number. This same physician just got his full licensing without restrictions back in June this past year. The doctor had prescription abuse issues himself and had to get treatment and was on probation. He has been doing these "deals" before this time and during this time and since this time. I think he should not only be reported to medical people but also to authorities since his actions could cause death in patients. Also he is prescribing more than one medication and looking online I see it is deadly combination if not taking this right. The patients he is doing this with are there for prescriptions to help them with their own drug abuse.

Hello
You can go to the state medical board web site of the state that you are in and file a report on the site; or call the board and they have a special department/person for filing reports on the phone.
Then they will investigate.
Takes about 5 minutes.
You can generally file as a patient or anonymously.
Good luck

What about the criminal reporting?
Expert:  Dr. Thomas, MD replied 5 years ago.
The state would refer that over if appropriate.
You can also report this to the state attorney generals office if you think it is criminal.
Good luck again
