is there any specific way to freeze the urine to maintain the integrity of the specimen?
Expert:  Dr.tiwari replied 6 years ago.
Although the freezing can be done by vacuum sealing of this specimen but this is not used clinically .In laboratories they do test on fresh samples & they know that freezing of the urine may change the biochemical property of the urine.

Hope this will help you.

last question, can a urine sample be frozen to be used for drug testing later on? would the testing lab detect that the urine was previously frozen?
Expert:  Dr.tiwari replied 6 years ago.
In reality no, as the testing laboratory can detect the crystals in the urine & on holding the container it will feel cold.Normally the urine should be on the body temperature & is not cold.

Hope this will help you.

what if the urine sample is heated to body temperature?
Expert:  Dr.tiwari replied 6 years ago.
A frozen urine sample can be kept for testing for upto the 7-10 days without loosing the integrity of the sample. If it is then taken up to the body temperature naturally then drug testing can be done on that.

Hope this will help you.
