This area could be an aphthous ulcer. These are painful sores that come and go and usually they do not represent anything worrisome or malignant. Other possibilities are benign inflammation of normal mucous membrane glands which can sometimes form a painless bump. Both these conditions will go away on their own usually within a week or so. But if the condition worsens, becomes very painful, or doesn't go away, you should see your doctor. If you have pain that is unbearable, you should be seen, because your doctor can prescribe a numbing agent mouthwash to help the pain, even if it is a benign problem that will heal on its own.

Hope that helps, please let me know if you have questions.

You are welcome and thank you for using JA.

I will be compensated with payment once you hit the green "ACCEPT" button. (Which had not been done so yet.) Otherwise JA will hold your deposit but not pay the expert who has helped you.

Thank you.
