Did you injury the finger that you know of.
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
not that i can remember, i maybe hit it on the night stand before i fell asleep. nothing specific
Expert:  Dr. Thomas, MD replied 6 years ago.
Then it is possibly injury and ice might help. If it is bruising, homeopathic arnica cream is specific and helps.

If this is not injury then it needs to be examined quite quickly. Do you have any medical problem and are you on any meds?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
no medical problems, I only take thyroid daily. It doesn't feel infected or warm when it is touched. It is just bruised and swollen on the body of the middle finger not any discolor on the nail

Without other symptoms it is most likely a bruise but if it is not clearly improving or getting other symptoms iw could be a circulatory problem for example. So if this is the case have it examined.
