What causes yellow discoloration of the skin under eyes

What causes yellow discoloration of the skin under eyes?

The yellow discoloration is due to a condition known as Xanthelasma.

They usually occur in people with a high lipid and cholesterol level but may sometimes occur without any cause.

If you have a disease that causes increased blood lipids, treating the condition may help reduce the development of xanthomas. It can also be removed by surgery. But treatment is mainly cosmetic.
