What is usual recovery time for large toenail removal bilaterally. Also how soon can I go ahead and wear shoes to go somewhere. SURGERY 1 WEEK AGO I am also a diabetic Insulin dependent for 25 years have worn an insulin pump for 20 years

Thank you for your question,

usual recovery time is around 1-2 weeks and if you have some heavy jobs that require weight and standing for long then 3 weeks to return to job.
If you have some underlying disease like diabetes or peripheral vascular disease then healing may take longer.
first bandage should be changed after 1 week.
you can wear shoes with large area for your toes after 24-48 hours.
Keep the bandage clean and dry to prevent infection.

I hope this answers your question.
