Was the level of 7.6 just done on the pin prick test?
I had a reading of 6.6 on my initial test, then 7.6 after fasting for 12 hours. Both tests were just pin prick tests.
A value above 7.0mmol is considered diagnostic for diabetes - but this should be done on a proper blood sample not just a pinprick.

You do need to have a proper lab sample to make the diagnosis.
Sometime sugar levels can be raised if we are severely stressed or anxious - then return to normal.
If your lab sample comes back above 7.0mmol then that is consistent with diabetes.
