Well, the general answer to this question is if the bacteria that is causing the urinary tract infection is sensitive to the azithromycin -- then it will work.

Of course, that is the big unknown here -- what is the bacteria causing it?

That being said, azithromycin is not one of the recommended antibiotics for treatment of urinary tract infections, as the medications like cipro, Bactrim, Macrodantin, amoxicillin are generally used first. So, it will probably work, but generally this medication (and class of medications) are used in specific circumstances, not as a first line drug.
