Rhanks for the additional information.
well there can be number of causes for the dry cough thats why i asked you lot of questions to narrow down the differential.
1)it can be simply due to increased acid in your stomach which can reflux and irritates your throat causing cough so giving a trial of over the counter drugs like prilosec which suppress acid would n't be a bad idea.this type of cough characteristically increases on lying down
2)combination of dry cough and low grade fever goes more in favor of infective process like some virus,Rib pains are also common in this condition.
3)Another possibility is that of secondary metastases from breast cancer and that needs further evaluation
.4)cardiac disease and some medications can also cause cough but that is unlikely in your case.
So i would recommend you to start prilosec also take panadol for pain relief and even then if symptoms dont settle then pleasesee your GP.
hope it helped
