Gas production usually occurs because of diet high in fiber,
Some of the diets which are often responsible are
Sugars that are commonly poorly digested (maldigested) and malabsorbed are lactose, sorbitol, and fructose.
Lactose is the sugar in milk,its malabsortion sometimes can cause excess gas production.Sorbitol is a commonly used sweetener in low calorie foods. Fructose is a commonly used sweetener in all types of candies and drinks.
Starches e g rice and the vegatables rich in starch are often responsible.
To start with some of the measures as listed below are advised
1-Chew the food well before swallowing
2-Use less amount of raw vegetables and carbohydrate which i mentioned above.
3-Avoid drinking excess water at the end of meals,use at start or in the middle.
4-Often it may be helpful to ingest small quantities of acidic liquids with meals, such as lemon juice or vinegar, to stimulate the production of gastric hydrochloric acid
5-Use diet low in fats.
With above said measures most of the time the situation is controlled,failure to do so warrants detailed evaluation and sometimes oral medications.
