Thanks for your question. I would say that CK mean creatine kinase which is an enzyme present in the cells of the body. CK is present in many tissues but skeletal and heart muscles contain the highest concentration. High levels are seen in muscular dystrophies and polymyositis- dermatomyositis, rhabdomyolysis, trauma to the muscles, burns can also elevate CK. Low levels can be seen in low physical activity, muscle wasting, muscle retardation, alcoholism and others as well.
