You may be describing a condition called claudication which is either related to the nervous system or vascular system.
1)Neurogenic claudication: often this is from Spinal Stenosis or narrowing of the spinal canal. Often this is from changes related to osteoarthritis. Can be confirmedwith an MRI fo the spine. If severe can be treated with surgery.
2) Intermitten vascular sclaudication which is from poor circulation in the legs: can be checked with vascular studies.
