Hi,

is there any blood or mucus in the stools ?

since when you have this problem ?

is there any itching in the anal area ?

have you done any tests ?

any medicine taken ?
Customer reply replied 7 years ago.
There is no blood or mucus. I have had this problem for quite sometime. There is no itching in the anal area. I am having a colonostopy done. The last one was probably 6 years ago. I am on hormone replacement medicine. They seem to be normal bowel movements other than the fact they don't eliminate completely.

Hi,

What is the cosistency of the stools ?

do they stick with the toilet pan and difficult to flush ?

what was the last time you had any blood or stool tests done, and were the reports normal ?
Customer reply replied 7 years ago.
They are soft. And yes they do stick to the toilet often and are difficult to flush. I don't recall having a stool test done to check for blood, but I haven't seen anything myself. I have been told I have irritable bowel. I sometimes have to rush to the bathroom after eating.

Hi,

Thanks for input,

your problem is due to presence of large no of fats in the stools,

you need to get you stool test for fat contents.

mean while you need to avoid high fat diet,

if your stools become more firm they will be easy to clean so try taking more fiber in

your diet, increase your fruit and vegetable intake, avoid taking fried food.

next step will be lower gut endoscopy if your problem does not settle.

I hope answer was helpful

Do I just ask my doctor for a stool test? When you say endoscopy is that the same as colonostopy?
Dr S.A.Alam, Doctor replied 7 years ago.
Hi,

Thanks for input,

yes, getting a stool test is a prefferable option,

yes colonoscopy is the same thing.
